Before we get into some of the background, a picture is worth a thousand words:

This is simply an epic picture.  What you’re seeing is a 60ft, mostly carbon fiber yacht by Alex Thompson Racing…with Alex Thompson standing on its keel.  To get on the keel, they used a 255 horsepower jet ski to get next to the sideways 8 ton boat.  After a number of takes, the perfect shot is made.  Watch the below video to see exactly how this was done:
