The Geneva Motor Show is one of those auto shows where we see the best of the best get released…and this year did not disappoint. Â I’m going to highlight the cars that were premiered to the world that you, as a car and carbon fiber enthusiast, have to know about.
Lamborghini Centenario
To celebrate Ferruccio Lamborghini’s hundredth birthday, Lamborghini took an Aventador, then upped the ante. Â Outside of the body updates, the engine pumps out 760 hp (more than both the normal Aventador and the Aventador SV), allowing it do 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph. Â Although the shown model is exposed carbon fiber, each of the 40 examples (20 coups and 20 roadsters) will be made to each customer’s specifications. Â See and learn more.
Arash AF10
Arash is a small British automaker that released the AF10. Â It pumps out 2,080 horsepower from a supercharged V8 and 4 electric motors. Â It’s said to do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds with a 201 mph top speed. Â See and learn more.
Spyker C8 Preliator
Coming out bankruptcy, Spyker is revitalizing its car with the C8 Prelatior. Â This new RWD model has a 525 bhp Audi V8 motor with a top speed over 200 mph. Â See and learn more.
Apollo Arrow
Like the Spkyer, Apollo is recently out of foreclosure, this time with a new Hong Kong based owner. Â Also like the Spyker above, the Apollo Arrow is based off an Audi V8 moto that has been twin-turbo’d….except the Arrow makes an estimated 1,000 horsepower, does 0-62 mph under 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 220 mph. Â See and learn more.
Koenigsegg Regera
There were quite a number of 1,000+ horsepower cars at the show this year, and the Regera was one of them. Â This hybrid hypercar is expected to have over 1,500 in fact…but weighs 1,000 pounds less than the Bugatti Chiron. Â While the Chiron is still faster 0-124 mph, the low weight allows the Regera to be a full 2.6 seconds faster when looking at 0-186 mph (in just 10.9 seconds). Â See and learn more.
Rimac Concept_S
The Concept_S is the sportier version of the Concept_One. Â Aside from an aerodynamics package, it pumps out 1,365 horsepower and 1,328 pound feet of torque from an electric drivetrain. Â It’s said to do 0-62 in 2.5 seconds and is capable of a 226.8 mph top speed. Â It’s made from a carbon fiber shell, of course, though some of the interior and sound-proofing has been removed in the Concept_S for weight savings. Â See and learn more.
Aston Martin DB11
The DB11 is the next generation DB from Aston Martin. Â It has an aluminum body powered by a a twin turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 with 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Â Top speed of 200 mph and 0-62 in 3.9 seconds. Â Unfortunately, not much carbon fiber here. Â See and learn more here.
Bugatti Chiron
Finally, the next Generation Veyron is here! Â The Chiron gets almost 500 hundred more horsepower (bringing it to 1,478), though, you’ll need $2.6 million to park it in your garage. Â Only 500 will be made, and will be capable of 261 mph and 0-186 mph in 13.5 seconds (3 seconds faster than the Veyron). Â The chassis is all new, made from carbon fiber. Â See and learn more here.
