Malcolm over at Automotive Addicts gave us the heads up on a new teaser video that Lamborghini has produced to show off the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera. Lets just get into the juicy stuff, watch the video if you like carbon fiber or you fancy Lamborghini’s…if both float your boat, you will be dually happy:
For carbon fiber fanatics like us, the video was amazing. The video shows the creation of carbon which they define as “exceptional”, “highly complex”, “present in all known life-forms” and “the foundation for a perfect material”…which they then state is carbon fiber. They tie it to the new Gallardo by saying it’s “abundantly used in masterpiece of engineering.”
For those that don’t know “Superleggera” means super light in Italian, and the Superleggera version of the Gallardo is just that. New for 2011, the model boasts an additional 38hp and weighs 199lbs less then the previous Superleggera model. This is done by shaving weight on the aluminum wheels, but also by…wait for it…wait for it…using more carbon fiber. In fact, in a recent report, the future of Lamborghini will see a lot more carbon fiber as part of its mission to increase the overall fuel economy.
So my question is, can I get one and write it off to the business?
