I like to say I have an eye for carbon fiber, in that I mean, I can easily spot it anywhere. Whether it be a two second clip during a commercial, the back of a cell phone while passing a person on the street, or in this case, an awesome looking pair of headphones at an airport kiosk. On our way to California while searching for some sort of reasonable breakfast at the airport, we stumble by a Polk Audio kiosk and quickly stopped in our tracks, both immediately noticing the carbon fiber headband on a pair of headphones. Breakfast suddenly didn’t seem so important.
Rather than trying on the UltraFocus 8000 Active Noise Canceling Headphones, I just examined them first. The man working was definitely staring at me for a few minutes before we started to explain our business, “Carbon Fiber Gear, online store, luxury lifestyle products, blah blah blah.” These things were beautiful, and sold out I might add! At $350 a pop, to be sold out at airport kiosk speaks volumes, no pun intended. Airport kiosk headphones are most certainly an impulse buy in my opinion.
Now, down to the nitty gritty. The UltraFocus 8000 Active Noise Canceling Headphones are a high performance headphone.
“By incorporating the noise cancellation algorithm into the tuning of the drivers, Polk engineers compensated for the usual compromises that ANC forces on headphone performance. Now, with Polk’s exclusive Optimized Active Tuning working in tandem with the ANC technology, achieving up to 15dB of noise cancellation, up to 3kHz, the UltraFocus 8000 zeros in on clear, detailed headphone performance, with no distractions”
Polk used superior materials such as carbon fiber, stainless steel, aluminum, generously padded ear pads, noise canceling and over 40 years of experience combined to create the UltraFocus 8000 Active Noise Canceling Headphones. On The headphones, there are easy to reach control buttons to adjust the volume, with a play/pause feature along with a muting option. And they come in a pretty sweet, protective case. Did I mention they sound awesome too? I was able to test and play around with them at the airport kiosk. The only down side? We aren’t able to carry them in our store so you’ll have to check out PolkAudio.com to get yours!
