Rob Arad, an Israeli born designer/architect, created what is called the “Oh Void 2”. Essentially a carbon fiber lounge chair, this contemporary design is made of two linked ovoids and was designed 10 years ago in 2002. Arad, who now resides in Britain where he moved in 1973 to study architecture, made a limited edition of just 20 carbon fiber chairs, along with five artist proofs.

Back in 2009, the Oh Void 2 was auctioned off, estimating to be sold anywhere between £40,000 – £60,000 (about $62,400 USD – $93,600 USD), with the winning bid coming in at £44,000 ($68,631 USD). Now that is one pricey piece of carbon fiber, especially for a lounge chair that doesn’t really look all that comfortable!
