That’s it, carbon fiber has now officially hit the mainstream. Â LeBron James is wearing a carbon fiber mask in the game going on against the Knicks right now! Â Talk about carbon fiber exposure.
LeBron broke his nose in a game last week against the Thunder, now he’s wearing the carbon fiber mask to help protect it. Â James had to wear a mask before after fracturing his cheekbone, but it was the normal clear one (made of fiberglass) we’re used to seeing. Â This is the first time carbon fiber has been brought out to the mix.
So what do people think? Â We’re reading things like Batman, Bane and Hannibal Lector. Â Even James had joked about it before the big reveal according to ESPN:
James joked that he has been in contact with Marvel Comics, DC Comics and others to “come up with greatest mask of all time” to make his experience different from other players who have worn the devices in the past.
Here at Carbon Fiber Gear, we know the truth though. Â The carbon fiber mask is lighter, stronger, and simply more badass looking than its clear fiberglass counterpart. Â All hail the king!
Here’s a few Twitter posts showing off the mask in action:
