When you think of Indianapolis, what comes to mind? If you’re like the majority of us, we think race cars and Indy 500. When you take the materials experience and technology in Indy, and apply it to lifestyle design, the outcome is this Ava carbon fiber coffee table:
Nothing was held back when developing and designing this table. Â The core inside the table is honeycomb, while the outside is a 3k twill carbon fiber impregnated with epoxy resin. Â The combination leads to a table that weighs in at just 13 pounds. Â You’ll find stainless steel medallions where the legs and top meet, which are laser engraved with the word Fuller to represent Fuller Designs, a company that we’ll get more into later on. Â The bottom of the table features feet made of 6061 aluminum along with silicon rubber pads to ensure your floors are protected.
Our favorite part of the table has to be the uniquely designed top. Â Fuller utilizes a 4-section reverse diamond carbon fiber pattern. Â The picture below shows exactly what I mean:
Finally, the table is given multiple coats of high-build durable automotive finish to make it really pop.
Earlier on, I mentioned Fuller Designs. Â The Ava table is designed by Glenn Fuller, who has over 30 years of industrial design experience. Â He worked together with Aerodine Composites Group to do the carbon fiber work. Â Aerodine is known for the carbon fiber fabrication in the racing industry.
Like the price of a carbon fiber Indy car, this table does not come cheap. Â The Ava carbon fiber coffee table retails for $9,500 and since each one is made-to-order, it takes about 10-12 weeks before it can be completed and shipped to you. Â Ready to get one for yourself?
