While binoculars themselves have been around for centuries, it took quite some time for a pair to look this slick. Made with carbon fiber and from Ferrari, these are quite the desirable pair. Ferrari teamed up with William Optics to create an innovative and high performance range of binoculars and telescopes back in 2007.
The 8×25 binoculars offer 8x magnification and an ultra lightweight design. They are powder-coated in Ferrari Red, encompassed with the famous Ferrari horse logo and a carbon fiber plate. The binoculars are waterproof and weigh just 290g. Provided in a stylish Cordura storage pouch with a strap for easy transportation and beautiful Ferrari box, it makes for a perfect present.
Then there’s the Ferrari ZenithStar Racing edition telescope, 66mm, high-grade aluminum and carbon fiber body scope with digital SLR cameras for use as a telephoto lens that allows for up to 25-50x magnification and can also function as a camera lens with the optional adapter kit. Unlike many zoom spotting scopes out there, the ZenithStar Ferrari’s standard zoom eyepiece can be removed, and optional accessories can be attached so that you can use it for astronomy or photography.
Topping off the range is the limited edition ZenithStar Anniversary Edition which celebrated Ferrari’s 60th anniversary. Offering 20 to 65 times zoom magnification, this telescope has a black carbon fiber exterior resulting in a total weight of just 5 pounds. “The Ferrari ZenithStar Anniversary Edition is particularly well suited for terrestrial and astronomical observations, thanks to its high-quality zoom eyepiece and erecting prism, but with the simple addition of an optional adapter, this scope will turn into a deluxe 430mm apochromatic telephoto lens.”
Unfortunately, these items have since been discontinued as they were released in 2007 but we still thought they were awesome. I mean can you blame us, carbon fiber plus Ferrari will always have our interest. We are jealous of anyone out there who got their hands on any of these pieces. If you’re one of the lucky ones, let us know!
