Although it may appear to be to a part from an art exhibit, these stones are actually benches made out of carbon fiber. Each stone is composed of a single string of carbon fiber, twisted around the base. Appropriately named, Carbon Fiber Stones have been manufactured by Peter Donders in a very limited edition; a mere 10 pieces per shape will be available for purchase.

Furniture designer and maker Peter Donders has hand crafted these exquisite stones in Belgium. On his personal website he explains,

“the combination of my thorough understanding of the craftsmanship of being a classic furniture maker, combined with the unique set of tools that I have mastered and that I am currently using has put me in a very unique position.”

And these unique benches, made for sitting, prove just that. Since they are made out of carbon fiber, you can bet they are extremely strong and durable, not to mention, lightweight.
